A Community of Servants

1. What are we as Christians to stir up or encourage each other to do?

Heb 10:24 (ESV)  And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

2.What should we adhere to without wavering?

Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV): 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hopewithout wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

3.How is the Church described in 1 Corinthians 12?

1 Corinthians 12:13 (NIV): 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 

4. How are we to act as the body of Christ?

 1 Cor 12.31-1 Cor 13.1 And yet I show you a more excellent way .Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

5. What is the purpose of the Church on this earth? 

Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV [13] "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. [14] "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. [15] Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

6. Are we to be agents of change?

Proverbs 31:8-9 NKJV [8] Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die. [9] Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.

7.What are God’s people compared to in Romans 12.1?

Rom 12:1 (ESV)  I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

8.What are God’s people compared to in 2 Corinthians 5:20?

2Co 5:20 (ESV)  Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

9.What is the Gospel of Christ compared to in 2 Corinthians 2.15-16?

2Co 2:15-16 (ESV)  For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,  [16]  to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life.Who is sufficient for these things?

10.How are the people of God defined in Revelation 14.12?

Rev 14:12 (KJV)  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

11. In what way does Moses show the characteristic of  compassion?

Exo 32:31-32 (ESV)  So Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Alas, this people has sinned a great sin. They have made for themselves gods of gold.  [32]  But now, if you will forgive their sin—but if not, please blot me out of your book that you have written.”

12.How does E.G White describe the qualities of Moses as an intercessor? He had

13. How should we deal with the erring around us?

14   What will the good works of Church members lead observers to do on the day of visitiation?

1Pe 2:12 (ESV)  Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

15.  We are to do what in this world - according to Philippians 2:15 ?

Php 2:15 (KJV)  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

19.   Of what value is faith without good works?

Jas 2:15-17 (ESV)  If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,  [16]  and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?  [17]  So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.


20.   What is to be our priority?

Mat 6:33 (ESV)  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

21.   What were and are the characteristics of the Servant king in Isaiah 42?

Isa 42:1-4 (KJV)  Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.  [2]  He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.  [3]  A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.  [4]  He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

22.   How does John 13 display the way we are act in relation to each other?

23. What does Galatians 6.9,10 say as regards good works - the fruit of our faith?

Galatians 6:9-10 ESV [9] And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. [10] So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
