 Dundee SDA Church 2025 Ordinants.

The Dundee Seventh-day Adventist Church on the 18th of January 2025 witnessed a significant milestone as it conducted the ordination of its elders and diaconate teams, marking a strong and promising start to 2025. The ordination, a solemn and sacred process in the Adventist Church, reflects the biblical practice highlighted in the letters of Paul, where he emphasises the importance of appointing dedicated leaders to oversee and nurture the spiritual growth of the church.

The theme for the day, “You’re Ordained into Resolving Challenges and Stimulating Growth of Jesus’ Kingdom”, set the tone for the service, inspiring and encouraging the newly ordained leaders to embrace their roles with vision and commitment. The message urged the candidates to see themselves as agents of growth and reconciliation within the church and the wider community.

The ordination ceremony by the local Pastor seamlessly transitioned into a powerful and spiritually uplifting divine service, led by Elder Tarzan, under the title “Let Us Pray”. This service marked the conclusion of the global 10 Days of Prayer initiative and was characterised by its inclusivity, addressing the unique challenges faced by people of all age groups and professions. Congregants were encouraged to take their petitions and intercessory prayers daily before the Lord, not only for the Dundee church family but also for the national and global Adventist community.

A particularly uplifting moment was seeing individuals, taking turns to the pulpit to pray for the church, community, and world at large. The service emphasised the power of prayer as a unifying force, promoting a spirit of collective faith and dependence on God.

Following the service, members stayed for a fellowship meal in the form of a potluck, providing a wonderful opportunity for connection and catch-up. The warmth and hospitality shared over food exemplified the essence of a church family, reinforcing the importance of community in spiritual growth.

The day also included an officers’ orientation programme, led by Pastor NJay. This session was engaging and interactive, allowing the church to share their views and ideas. The discussions demonstrated the church’s readiness to embrace 2025 with a renewed sense of singleness in purpose and unity, focusing on the mission to share the gospel of Christ and prepare for His soon return.

The day finally ended with Pastor NJay leading the church into a business meeting where 2024 departmental reports were shared and accepted. Members voted on new proposals and projects for 2025, further showcasing the church’s commitment to being a welcoming and proactive home for all. The discussions reflected a forward-thinking mindset, with a strong emphasis on unity, growth, and service to the Lord.
The ordination day was a truly inspiring event, setting the spiritual and organisational tone for the year ahead. Dundee SDA Church is poised to make 2025 a year of impact, growth, and deeper connection with God and the community.
